He also recalled the loss of life in the Gaza war and expressed his support for an independent Palestine. Mr. Biden said, "This war has caused terrible suffering to the Palestinian people. More than 30,000 Palestinians have been killed, most of them civilians, including thousands of children. Some are family members of American Muslims who are deeply grieving the loss of their loved ones today. Nearly two million Palestinians have been displaced by the war; Many are in urgent need of food, water, medicine and shelter. As Muslims gather around the world to break their fast in the coming days and weeks, the plight of the Palestinian people will be at the forefront of many minds. It will be at the center of my mind," he said of helping American Muslims.He also signaled support for Palestine and said we (the US) will continue to lead international efforts to get more humanitarian aid to Gaza by land, air and sea. Earlier this week, I ordered our military to lead an emergency mission to establish a temporary wharf on the Gaza coast that could receive large shipments of aid. He said about the ceasefire, "We are continuing to work on the ceasefire and the release of the hostages in the war in Gaza. We will continue to do so and work towards stability, security and peace in the world. He said Palestine and Israel should share an equal system of freedom, dignity and prosperity and that is the path to a solution. This is called a two-state solution. Calling on citizens to stop turning a blind eye, hatred and violence against Muslim Americans at home in the United States. He said, Islam haters have no place in America. "We are seeing a resurgence of Muslim hatred and violence here which is not desirable," he lamented. He said, "Those who are creating this hatred are walking the path of inhumane discrimination. I will say to Muslims, you are a precious member of my family. I will stand by you in all adversity".
