So what are the three rules we are talking about:

structure of tense 

Note: 

V1=  present form of verb                     

V2= past form of verb

V3 =past participle form of verb 

Gerund= v1+ing

Rules Of Rights form of verb 

01: 

if any sentence has modal auxiliary verb such that - can,could, may,might, shall,should,have to, has to, might to,ought to,etc. Then set up the verb of V1. 

Example : 

i) You can (success) in your life 

Ans. You can success in your life

ii) You could (solve) the problem. 

Ans. You could solve the problem. 

iii) I do( love) him.

Ans. I do love him.

N.B After the do verb sit the V1. 

02: 

V1 sits on the verb after preposition To.

Example.

i) I have to solve the problem. 

Here,   (To + V1). 

ii) you want to know about my letter. 

iii) To get AdSense on Google you need to write content 

iv) You work with him to help him

03:

Any sentence has (had better, had rather, would rather, would better, make, here,dare,need, must).  Then sit V1 of verb  after this words. 
Example. 

i) I had better go home.

ii) You must read regularly to pass exam.

iii) I would rather die then beg.

Use of Gerund(V1+ing)  

01:  

Any preposition is followed by ing on the verb. 
 Sit V1 +ing After any  preposition. 

Example.

i) By running fast, he took the first prize in the race.

ii) He come here for learning English. 

iii) You go abroad for earning a good salary

02: 

If a sentence has two verbs side by side, ing is added to the second verb. Sometimes there is V3. 

Structure. Sub+....... + verb + verb+ing

Example. 

i) I will do die laughing  oneday.

ii) I read learning English. 

03: sit V1 +ing after this words ( Accustome to, addicted to,adhare to,with a view to,look forward to, use to, be use to,mind, would you mind, cannot help,could not help) 

Example. 

i) Our youth generation addicted to smoking. 

ii) Would you mind taking tea.

iii) I am looking forward to meeting you ( 18th NTRCA)
